Small dogs are not only a sea of charm and cute looks, but also real character! Often owners think that only large breeds need training, and little ones like Chihuahuas, Yorkies or Spitzes can do without the rules. In fact, this is a big misconception.
Even the smallest dog is a real predator with natural instincts and its own rules of behaviour. And if you don't train it from an early age, sooner or later problems will appear: barking without reason, aggression, fear, caprices or disobedience on a walk.
Why do small dogs need training?
they become more confident;
less afraid of people and other animals;
they learn to stay home alone;
don't pull on the leash or lash out at everything;
understand the rules of the house and the rules of communication with their owner more quickly.
How does training small dogs work?
The main rule is gentleness and patience. Small breeds are very sensitive and react strongly to human emotions. Therefore, training is based on encouragement, play and positive reinforcement.
Classes usually include:
teaching basic commands (come to me, sit, can't);
developing concentration and obedience;
correction of undesirable behaviour;
socialisation - introduction to new places, people and animals.
The result is a happy dog and a satisfied owner
A properly brought up small dog is a real companion, which does not create problems in everyday life and pleases with its character every day. The main thing is to find an approach and not to postpone training for later. Any training is an investment in a harmonious relationship between you and your pet.
