How do I explain what a webinar is to my colleague who has never heard of it?
So, I ran into something kind of funny at work today. One of my colleagues—super smart guy, by the way—asked me what exactly a “webinar” is. I was surprised because I assumed it's just one of those terms everyone sort of knows by now. But then I realized: if you've never attended one or if your job never required it, maybe the word does sound a bit abstract. I didn’t want to make him feel awkward for not knowing, so I tried saying it’s like an online seminar, but I feel like that wasn’t very helpful. He just nodded politely but I don’t think it really clicked. I want to explain it in a way that actually makes sense without sounding like I’m giving a dictionary definition. Any ideas on how to put definition webinar into more relatable terms?
